Differences between HV-50 and HVE-50
Externally, the HV-50 and HVE-50 autoclaves are practically identical. Some differences are as follows:
HV-50
Has a clock and timer for programming a cycle to start up to one week later.
Program parameters are retained in memory even when the power cord is disconnected from the wall outlet.
Rate of steam venting is continuously adjustable by selecting percent of valve opening from zero to 100%.
Cycle for melting agar is more sophisticated: Can program initial melting temperature from 60° up 100°C (programmable) for a certain number of minutes and to then drop and hold at 45°C to 60°C (programmable) for 20 hours.

Can support optional PCB-integrated digital recorder and floating (load) sensor that can be installed in the field.

HVE-50
No such feature.
Program parameters are lost if the power cord is disconnected from the wall outlet.
Three selectable rates of steam venting: very slow (P-1), slow (P-2), and no venting (P-0).
Melts agar by maintaining temperature at 45°C to 60°C (programmable) for 20 hours.
Cannot support a digital recorder or a floating sensor. An independent 8" analog circular chart recorder is available.
